Significant speeding, driving under narcotics or having drunk too much: dangerous behavior seems to be recurrent on the roads of Berry since the beginning of the year. The Cher prefecture issues an alert and speaks of a “unfavorable balance sheet” road safety. Three people died in 2022, that’s as many as in the first three months of 2021. But it is above all the number of accidents that is problematic. There are 39 bodily accidents and 51 injured, including 9 hospitalized in the Cher.
“Road checks will be reinforced on the entire road network of the Cher department”warns the prefecture. “Preventive actions on the use of two wheels (motorized or not) will be accentuated by this summer, especially for young people”she added in a press release.
