With the health crisis and the various lockdowns, real estate professionals are seeing a clear resurgence of interest in certain provincial towns. The massive use of telework has encouraged moves, especially in Reims.
In Reims (Marne), around the cathedral and elsewhere, stone attracts more and more. Séverine Pamart has chosen to settle 10 minutes by bike from the station. She works in Paris but bought a 50 m² apartment here for 76,000 euros. “As soon as I walked into that apartment I knew it was this one“, she says. After her first confinement in Paris, she was looking for accommodation with an outdoor space. She became Rémoise, and does not regret it.
She is not the only one to have left Ile-de-France to buy a property in the Reims region, where according to notaries, demand remains strong despite soaring prices. “We will seek the demand of small families, first-time buyers, executives who come to settle in the city“, explains a real estate agent. The market remains buoyant.
