Registrations for the 2022 summer internships of “Le Devoir” are open

The duty is pleased to announce the holding of its summer internship, which this year will allow three aspiring journalists to learn about the inner workings of a newsroom. Drum roll: this 2022 edition of the paid summer internship will most likely take place on the premises of the Homework and in the field, after two years of confinement. Joy !

Thanks to the support of Concordia University and Les Amis du Devoir, the three recruits will follow the frenetic pace of journalistic production by participating in meetings, assignments in the field and following all the stages of the production of digital and paper content. Those selected will be called upon to produce content that will appear on the platforms of the Homework and implement different journalistic formats. The internship stretches over eight weeks and is supervised by experienced journalists.

This tradition — the course will be in its third edition this summer — is clearly part of the desire to train the next generation in Homework. At a time when the labor shortage is having a direct impact on all development sectors of society, including the media, this gesture of social commitment is also a guarantee of maintaining our primary mission: some of the interns in recent years have carved out a special place for themselves within our team and are now players that you read about or who are active behind the scenes in the production of our content. Who knows, this internship may be a wide open door to the start of a career?

Over the past two years, we have recruited more than twenty new players, many of them in new functions, reflecting the effervescent evolution of our profession and our industry. The summer internship adds to this boiling and testifies to the importance given by The duty to the excellent academic complement constituted by the incursion into the work environment.

The call for applications is open until April 15, 2022.
