Franceinfo met an Iranian refugee in France, exiled after taking naked photos. She gives her view on the mobilization of women and Iranians against the regime.
She fled Iran and its Islamic Republic for France. In 2017, Negzzia was wanted by the police of manners because, in particular, of nude photos deemed obscene. “Since you only see my legs and shoulders, you think I’m naked“, she says, showing the photo. She then suffered many disapproving comments and was denounced by a photographer who tried to rape her. This model was then sentenced to prison and 148 lashes.
“I wanted to treat my body as I wanted“, she says to explain her exile. Now a mother, she says that her daughter “was born the day the protests started in Iran”. admiring demonstrators, Negzzia hopes that the power in place will be overthrown. “We are not the Islamic Republic of Iran, we are Iran. We need to change this government“, she asserts.
