In Seine-Maritime, the Gonfreville-l’Orcher refinery was requisitioned early on Friday March 24.

Gendarmes arrived early, around 4 a.m., Friday March 24. Objective: free access to the Gonfreville-l’Orcher refinery (Seine-Maritime) and allow requisitioned employees to take up their jobs. A total of three operators and a bus manager entered the site, forced by the state to come to work. They are notably responsible for bringing out kerosene, the fuel for aircraft. “The requisitions are for emergency vehicles, rescue, Samu, firefighters, ambulances. There it’s purely for business, it’s still for money. It’s disgusting”confides a trade unionist of the CGT.

15% of service stations are in difficulty of supply

The Gonfreville-l’Orcher refinery, the largest in France, was shut down last weekend to protest against the pension reform. Just like that of Fos-sur-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône), near Marseille, which supplies the south of the country. There too, striking employees have been requisitioned by the State, allowing more than a thousand tanker trucks to leave the site since Monday. At the national level, nearly 15% of service stations are in difficulty of supply.
