Reducing gasoline taxes, as demanded by Éric Duhaime’s Conservative Party, is a “bad idea”, Finance Minister Eric Girard said on Friday.
Mr. Duhaime asked the government to give a break to motorists who are hard hit by the drastic increase in the price of gasoline at the pump.

He suggested that the high price of fuels could help Quebec reduce its dependence on oil and reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, in accordance with its international commitments.
