Reduced rate for the Alsatian Museum of the City of Strasbourg in June

What is Alsace? And above all, Alsace in what period? A good summary, that the favorite of the day, is the Elsassische Müsee von Strossbori, the Alsatian museum of the city of Strasbourg. Next to Place du Corbeau, opposite the former Customs House. The route of this museum takes you through several old buildings connected by stairs and wooden walkways. Verliere eich net is a pleasant labyrinth in the city. You will see thousands of objects witnessing rural life in Alsace in the 18th and 19th centuries: the Tràchte, costumes, furniture, Hafele, ceramics, toys, sacred and profane imagery…

The museum has been open to the public for 110 years this year, and we can salute it for that alone. Reconstructions of interiors characteristic of different “countries” of Alsace (we realize that life in Protestant Outre-Forêt, in Catholic Sundgau or in the vineyards were not the same, not to mention the areas where there were large Jewish or Gypsy communities). And you will also see artisan workshops there, as well as huge and decorated barrels for the wine trades. Tradition, craftsmanship, belief, there is all of Alsace in this museum.

You will circulate among all the rooms that make up the Alsatian Museum as if you were walking through a house whose inhabitants had just left. But inhabitants from all over the place, that’s what makes it so charming. The creaking floors, the furniture lining all the rooms and all these objects, none of which are trivial, evoke a life that is both familiar and so different from that of today. The last exhibition has ended, the museum is going to rotate its collections and hang up objects that have not been seen for a long time.

In the next 4 weeks, as some rooms are closed, the entrance ticket will be €3.50, and it’s free for those who benefit from the reduced rate. Go to the Alsatian Museum in Strasbourg to let yourself be surprised.
