Floods are gaining ground towards the east. Côte-d’Or and Saône-et-Loire were placed on orange “flood” alert, Monday April 1, at 6 a.m., due to “heavy rain” in the Morvan, Sunday, which caused the Brenne and the Arroux to overflow, according to the morning bulletin from Vigicrues. These two departments thus join Charente, Charente-Maritime, Dordogne and Gironde, still in orange, affected by floods “important” on the Dronne (downstream sector), the Isle (downstream sector) and the Charente (upstream sector).

Indre-et-Loire remains on red alert in the face of a flood “exceptional” which touches the Vienne River in the north of the department. “The peak of the flood is expected in Chinon early in the morning”, according to Vigicrues. Vienna, which was on maximum alert on Sunday, was downgraded to yellow.
