(Ottawa) Kalil Pimpleton returned a punt 99 yards to the end zone on Friday, helping the Ottawa Redblacks to a 33-6 victory over the Calgary Stampeders.
Pimpleton also had 80 receiving yards for the Redblacks (5-2), who won their third straight game. The team hadn’t managed such a streak since 2018.
Lewis Ward went 4-for-4 on the field for Ottawa, which is 4-0 at home this year.
Dru Brown threw for 325 yards, including a touchdown pass.
Dedrick Mills had 57 receiving yards for the Stampeders (3-4), who have yet to win on the road this season (0-4).
Jake Maier had just 136 yards passing, and was later replaced by Logan Bonner (4 of 8 completions for 61 yards).
The Stampeders will host the Toronto Argonauts on August 4.
Ottawa has a reprieve until August 8. That evening, the visitors will be the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
