The two parties made health proposals during the last federal campaign, which Mr. Legault saw as an encroachment on his field of competence.

The Legault government is releasing 5.2 billion over five years, including 900 million for the first year, for the “recovery” of the health system, damaged by the pandemic. Of these amounts, a sum of one billion will be injected into Minister Dubé’s “Health Plan”.

For the time being, the budget mentions “the need to ensure decentralized, human and efficient management” by supporting “true local management”.

In the pages of the Girard budget, the word “refoundation” also leaves room for “recovery” of the health system, which the government wants to adapt “to the reality of the post-pandemic”.
