(LONDON) Global markets were mixed on Friday morning after data released that showed inflation hitting a new high in the eurozone.

London, Frankfurt and Paris added between 0.6% and 0.7% at the start of the session in Europe. Inflation rose to 10% in the euro zone in September, compared to 9.1% in August. Inflation was just 3.4% a year ago.
In New York, before the opening of the markets, the Dow Jones average of industrial values rose by 0.4% and the broader S&P 500 index by 0.6%.
In Asia, the Nikkei 225 plunged 1.8% in Tokyo. The Shanghai Stock Exchange slipped 0.6% and the Hang Seng added 0.5% in Hong Kong. Sydney fell by 1.2% and Seoul by 0.7%.
On the New York Commodities Exchange, oil prices fell 49 cents US to US$81.72 a barrel.
