Record heroin seizure in Laval

The organized crime squad of the Service de police de Laval (SPL) recently carried out two searches which led to the seizure of 2355 grams of heroin, a record quantity.

The searches took place in two residential buildings in the Chomedey sector, in Laval, over the past two weeks, Laval police reported Thursday.

She acted after receiving information received to the effect that an individual linked to a criminal network would be involved in the distribution of heroin and cocaine.

During its investigation, the SPL was able to establish that the suspect acted as a supplier for drug sellers who had an established clientele.

The operation also allowed investigators to seize several bladed weapons – a brass knuckles and a folding knife -, a prohibited pistol magazine, cocaine (nearly 22 grams), as well as heroin – the largest amount of this drug never seized on its territory, said the SPL.

The balance sheet of the operation amounts to a value of nearly $200,000, estimates the police.

The police force requested the assistance of the physical surveillance squads, the intervention group, Azimut, dog handlers, as well as the Forensic Identification and Analysis and Intelligence Service.
