On the night of Saturday April 9, heavy rains
caused rivers to swell and overflow, mainly in the Pont-à-Mousson sector in Meurthe-et-Moselle. The four Lorraine departments, Moselle, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse and Vosges were classified as raw yellow vigilance by Météo France.
The floods caused no injuries but the material damage was significant, cellars and homes were damaged by heavy runoff in several municipalities. Firefighters intervened more than 150 times.
This Wednesday, November 2, the prefecture of Meurthe-et-Moselle warns that thestate of natural disaster is declared for the municipalities of: Andilly, Ansauville, Brin-sur-Seille, Clémery, Dommartin-sous-Amance, Faulx, Leyr, Malleloy, Ménil-la Tour, Pont-à-Mousson, Sivry, Villers-lès-Moivrons.
Victims have ten days from October 29, 2022 to contact their insurance,”if they have not already done so, in order to benefit from the mechanism for recognizing the state of natural disaster“, further indicates the prefecture.
