A batch of sliced ​​smoked salmon from Norway, distributed by wholesalers, is the subject of a recall due to the possible presence of listeria bacteria, which can be particularly dangerous in pregnant women, reports the government site Rappel Conso.

The recall was issued on December 22 at the initiative of the company Le Fumoir which sold this batch no. 11173011 of salmon “pre-sliced ​​machine” vacuum packed, in one kilo format, to wholesalers. The batch has been on the market since December 5 with a use-by date of January 1.

If a buyer has it in their possession, they are recommended to “stop consuming, stop using the product, return the product to the point of sale, destroy the product”. Listeriosis, caused by listeria monocytogenes, is the second leading cause of death from food poisoning, with a few dozen deaths per year in France.
