Since the beginning of December, the circulation of Covid-19 has started to rise again in Brittany. Pharmacists sometimes struggle to convince their patients to be vaccinated.
A few days before the end of year holidays, a retiree came to be vaccinated at a pharmacy. At 86 years old, her husband pushed her to do it, because she is no longer afraid of Covid. “If someone has Covid, we are careful”, explains Josette Gautier. A pharmacist sometimes has to insist on convincing his patients. “We have an effect of weariness which is observed, with a certain number of vaccinations which have been carried out for several years and in relation to the trivialization of Covid, which has become more harmless in the general population”indicates Quentin Ginisty, doctor of pharmacy.
The incidence rate remains lower than in September
In Brittany, the Covid-19 epidemic experienced a rebound at the beginning of December. The latest figures from the ARS give an average of 32 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, with differences for the four departments. The incidence rate remains lower than in September, but calls for vigilance.
