Condominium fees are soaring in France. Despite the tariff shield put in place by the government, some may have difficulty paying.

Condominium fees are increasing very sharply in France. It was around 100, 120 euros, and we went to 250“laments a user. Soaring gas prices are one of the main factors behind this increase. Thus, in a Parisian building, the bill went from 25,000 to 60,000 euros. This sharp price increase therefore causes an inflation of condominium fees.

Despite the tariff shield put in place by the State, bills have exploded. We will globally receive 17,000 or 18,000 euros of tariff shield, that is to say barely half of the increase“, explains Olivier safarcondominium manager and president of UNIS Île-de-France. For all, this aid is considered insufficient. Payment defaults are feared, which could prevent condominiums from financing works or renovations, and even from paying the salaries of the caretaker of the buildings.
