RCMP investigation | Alleged ketamine importers in the crosshairs

Since Thursday morning, Royal Canadian Mounted Police investigators have been carrying out a series of searches against alleged ketamine importers.

Seven individuals were arrested, but will be released after questioning as this is an ongoing investigation.

The arrests and searches took place in Laval, Dorval, Dollard-des-Ormeaux and Brampton, Ontario.

One of the individuals arrested is Jonathan Massouras. He is detained because he is the subject of a provisional extradition warrant in the United States and must appear Thursday afternoon at the Montreal courthouse.

The investigation, which is being led by the Port of Montreal Divisional Triage Unit of Division C (Quebec) of the RCMP, began last February, after investigators received information from the Homeland Security the United States.

Around 110 police officers took part in the operation on Thursday morning.
