RCMP find body of child missing in Nova Scotia floods

Nova Scotia RCMP say they found the body of a child who went missing on Saturday when the province was hit by extreme flooding.

Police also confirm that the human remains found on Monday were those of a second missing child.

The two children were traveling with three other people who managed to escape when the vehicle they were traveling in was submerged.

Along with the two children, RCMP said on Monday they recovered the body of a 52-year-old man from Windsor, N.S., from the main search area in Brooklyn, northwest of Halifax.

Authorities are still looking for the fourth missing person, who police described as a youth under the age of 18.

Torrential rains over the weekend dumped up to 250 millimeters of water on several parts of the province, washing away roads and bridges and causing extensive damage.
