German club Leipzig announced on Sunday that they had separated from their American coach Jesse Marsch, due to a disappointing start to the season both in the league and in the Champions League, where he played in the same group as Paris Saint- Germain. RB Leipzig already know that they will not play the knockout stages of the most prestigious European competition, but they are fighting for third place in the group, in order to be transferred to the Europa League.

“RB Leipzig and Jesse Marsch have agreed to end their collaboration with immediate effect”, the German club said on Twitter. This decision follows immediately after another defeat in the Bundesliga in Leipzig on Friday night against Union Berlin (1-2), relegating the formation to only 11th place. Jesse Marsch took the reins of the team last summer, after Julian Nagelsmann left for Bayern Munich. His assistant Achim Beierlorzer will take over and will be on the bench against Manchester City on Tuesday 7 December.
