Razzie Awards | Tom Hanks gets three nominations for his roles in Elvis and Pinocchio

(Los Angeles) The Movie Elvis in which he recently starred is among the favorites for the Oscars, but that didn’t stop actor Tom Hanks from earning three nominations for the Razzies, satirical awards that recognize the worst films of the year.

The actor was pre-selected by the organizers of these satirical trophies for his roles as manager of Elvis Presley in the biopic dedicated to Elvis and Geppetto in the revival of Pinocchio from Disney.

According to a statement from the organizers of the Razzies, in the film ElvisTom Hanks reportedly delivered the “most widely derided performance of 2022”.

Tom Hanks, along with “his latex-laden face (and ridiculous accent),” was also nominated for the Razzies’ “worst screen couple” category, it is said.

WhileElvis and star Austin Butler were widely acclaimed, Tom Hanks as the rock and roll star’s manager earned him the wrath of critics.

Pinocchio by Disney was one of the five films in the running for the Razzie of the “worst film” alongside in particular the controversial biopic of Marilyn Monroe Blonde hair.

The “Golden Raspberry Awards”, the official name of the Razzies, were invented in a Los Angeles living room in 1981 by former film students and Hollywood professionals.

The Razzies are usually announced the day before the Academy Awards.

The lucky winners receive a trophy representing a raspberry the size of a golf ball placed on a reel of Super 8 film.
