Negotiate to govern “rather than pretending to go to courts that will not exist”launched the former Minister of Justice of François Hollande, Jean-Jacques Urvoas, on franceinfo on Friday July 19. “An election must be prepared, negotiated, not demanded”said the lawyer, while the New Popular Front denounced “swindles” and announced that it was studying all possible legal remedies concerning the re-election of Yaël Braun-Pivet as president of the National Assembly.

“The left, rather than pretending to go before courts that will not exist, and when all the jurisdictions have already declared their incompetence on this type of subject, would do better to take note of the fact that to try to govern tomorrow, it must negotiate”said the professor of public law at the University of Western Brittany. “There was no reason for the left to be president of the National Assembly”he recalled. “We had to agree to discuss, to contract, to make agreements”he added.
