Raspberry Time will return for a Season 2 next year

The second season of the series Raspberry time will air in 2024 with a new director at the helm.

Club illico announced on Tuesday that director Guillaume Lonergan was taking over from Philippe Falardeau, who had provided the first season and initiated the project originally. The broadcaster explains in an email that Philippe Falardeau is not directing this second season because of a scheduling conflict.

Guillaume Lonergan, who had directed Can you hear me And Audrey came backreturns to familiar territory, since he resumes his collaboration with screenwriter Florence Longpré, who is still signing Raspberry time with Susie Bouchard.

The series, produced by Trio Orange in collaboration with Quebecor Content, was critically acclaimed and won two international awards, in Seoul and Geneva. It follows the adventures of a widow (Sandrine Bisson) who has just inherited her husband’s family farm, where Mexican and South American seasonal workers also work.

Sandrine Bisson won the Gémeau for best female lead in a drama series in 2022 for her performance.

The second season of this series, which includes 10 one-hour episodes, is filmed in Montérégie, but it is indicated that the team will also travel to Mexico this time.

The distribution will welcome new faces this year, such as Joël Legendre and Marie Brassard. And Anne Dorval, who had a small role as a notary in the first season, will return in a new role… as a psychologist – the other’s twin sister.
