Raquel Welch dies at 82

American actress Rachel Welch has died aged 82 after a short illness. It is the family of the actress born in Chicago who communicated the information to the site TMZ.


Winner of the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy for her portrayal in The three Musketeers in 1974, she gained her star status in 1966 following her roles in The Fantastic Journey and in A million years B.C.a film in which she appeared in a small buckskin bikini which immediately crowned the actress as one of the greatest sex symbols of the XXe century.

She thus became one of the most prominent actresses of the 60s and 70s, so much so that she was named one of the 100 sexiest movie stars in history according to the magazine Empirein addition to being classified by the journal Playboy at 3e rank of the sexiest stars of XXe century.

Raquel Welch, who worked closely with singer Cher in the 1970s, notably in The Cher Show in 1975, married four times: to James Welch from 1959 to 1964, Patrick Curtis from 1967 to 1972, Andre Weinfeld from 1980 to 1990 and Richard Palmer from 1999 to 2004. She is survived by her daughter Tahnee and her son Damon.
