(Memphis) Gary Trent had 26 points and the Toronto Raptors edged 126-113 against the Grizzlies in Memphis on Wednesday.
The Raptors took control by scoring eight straight points late in the game, taking the lead 115-109.

Soon after, Fred VanVleet extended the lead to 118-111 with a three-point shot. VanVleet provided 23 points.
“We wanted the win more badly (than the Grizzlies),” said VanVleet.
“We played with heart and in the second half we were dynamic in defense. ”
Trent had a 4-for-7 performance for the long distance shots; VanVleet was 3 in 7 in this regard.
“My teammates found me,” said Trent, explaining his successes in the evening. We have been intense and united. It was a great team effort to seek a victory away from home. ”
The other starters also did well: Pascal Siakam, Scottie Barnes and Precious Achiuwa added 17 points each.
The score at the half was 92-91 in favor of the Grizzlies.
OG Anunoby was missing a fourth straight game with a left hip injury.
Montrealer Khem Birch was also absent (right knee).
It’s the same injury that caused him to miss three games earlier this month.
Yuta Watanabe was in his first game this season, having recovered from calf troubles. He scored three points and two blocks in 14 minutes.
Toronto (9-10) is 2-3 in the current trip ending Friday in Indiana.
Sunday night, Nick Nurse’s club will host the Boston Celtics.
Ja Morant led the Grizzlies, scoring 23 points.
Dillon Brooks scored 20 points, as did Desmond Bane.
Brooks was returning to the game with a rear right thigh injury that caused him to miss two games.
The Ontarian is the second-best scorer of his own.
