(Toronto) OG Anunoby scored 26 points and six rebounds and the Toronto Raptors defeated the Chicago Bulls 121-108 on Friday, eliminating their rivals from the NBA intraseason tournament.
The Raptors were eliminated from the intraseason tournament earlier Friday, following the Orlando Magic’s 113-96 victory over the Boston Celtics.
The Toronto club has a 1-2 record in the group stage and will play its last game of the tournament on Tuesday in Brooklyn, against the Nets.
Pascal Siakam added 18 points and eight assists for the Raptors (8-8), who continued to improve a team record by accumulating at least 25 assists in a 12e match in a row.
Zach LaVine provided 36 points for the Bulls (5-12), who fell to 0-3 in the tournament. Former Raptors DeMar DeRozan scored 19 points.
The Raptors led 36-22 after the first quarter, then 62-48 at halftime.
DeRozan drilled a layup to bring the Bulls within 10 points just over two minutes into the third quarter, forcing Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic to call a timeout.
The Raptors regained the lead by as many as 20 points before the end of the quarter. Siakam made a basket before the siren, bringing the score to 93-77 after three quarters.
A Patrick Williams dunk with 5:24 remaining capped a 10-point Bulls spurt that cut the lead to just seven points. Rajakovic called another timeout to curb the visitors’ momentum.
Anunoby made a three-point shot to revive the Raptors, who were no longer worried afterward.
