(Miami) Fred VanVleet had two three-pointers in the third period of overtime and the Toronto Raptors won the trench warfare 124-120 against the Miami Heat on Saturday night.

Gary Trent Jr. led the Raptors with 33 points, followed by rookie Scottie Barnes (22), Pascal Siakam (21) and OG Anunoby (20). Sidelined in the last two games due to right knee pain, VanVleet completed his night’s work with 19 points.
VanVleet’s first three-pointer made it 117-117. Anunoby’s dunk gave the Raptors the lead for good. VanVleet repeated with a second field goal from downtown and gave the Raptors a 122-117 lead.
The Raptors’ starting five, consisting of Trent Jr., Barnes, VanVleet, Anunoby and Siakam, all spent more than 50 minutes on the court.
Jimmy Butler had a triple-double with 37 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists for the Heat, which leads the NBA Eastern Conference.
Former Raptors player Kyle Lowry has missed a seventh straight game for the Heat. Lowry, who joined the Heat in the offseason after nine campaigns with the Raptors, is being sidelined for personal reasons. He still hasn’t faced the Raptors with his new team.
