Rapper Koba LaD indicted and imprisoned

The artist was driving a luxury sports sedan on Tuesday evening when his vehicle drove “at full speed” onto an exit ramp from a petrol station on the A86 motorway and hit a stationary lorry. The front passenger of the car died.

Rapper Koba LaD, involved in a fatal accident in Créteil on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday and who was under the influence of “narcotics” during the events, was indicted on Saturday, September 14 and imprisoned, the Créteil prosecutor’s office reported to AFP. The 24-year-old artist was “charged with charges of aggravated involuntary manslaughter and aggravated involuntary injury, and placed in pre-trial detention”the same source said.

He was driving a luxury sports sedan on Tuesday evening when his vehicle was involved “at full speed” on an exit ramp of a service station on the A86 motorway and hit a stationary heavy goods vehicle. The front passenger of the car, born in 1994, died, the Créteil prosecutor’s office confirmed on Thursday, while the rear passenger, born in 1999, was slightly injured.

In a message published on his Instagram account on Saturday and signed with his name, Koba LaD said: “devastated by the tragic loss of [son] friend”. “Since Tuesday evening, I have been thinking first and foremost about his family, his wife and children, with whom I share this immense sadness and mourning,” is it also written.

Koba LaD was sentenced in 2020 to a three-month suspended prison sentence and 140 hours of community service for a car accident in Marseille. He fled after the incident, before reporting to the police three days later. He was also given a four-month driving ban during an appearance on prior admission of guilt (plea bargaining procedure).

In another case, in which he is suspected of violence in a nightclub, the Paris Criminal Court is due to deliver its judgment on September 25. The prosecution has requested an 18-month prison sentence against him with a deferred arrest warrant.
