Rapper Drake announces career break for health reasons

The 36-year-old rapper announced this news on Friday, the day his new album “For All The Dogs” was released.

Canadian rapper Drake announced Friday that he would be taking a break “one year or more” in his musical career for “focus on your health”citing “stomach problems”.

“I probably won’t do music for a while, I’ll be honest”explained the artist on his radio program Table For One, adding: “I need to focus on my health and get back on my feet.”

At 36, the artist has become an international star. He chose this Friday October 6, day of the release of his eighth album, For All The Dogs to announce this break in his career.

“Nothing serious”

Wanting to be reassuring, the 36-year-old rapper clarified that it was not “nothing serious” but that he had “all kinds of problems with his stomach” for several years. He also said he had other things to do, without giving further details.

“I’m going to close the studio door for a little while”confided the artist, adding that it would last “maybe a year, maybe a little longer.”

Several upcoming concert dates in the United States have been postponed on the singer’s website as well as on the Ticketmaster platform. Those planned for Friday and Saturday in Toronto, however, seem to be maintained while fans have already been seen queuing in front of the venue.

His five-year-old son Adonis did the album cover and appeared in a music video for the opus titled 8AM in Charlotte.
