He’s one of the new names in French cinema, but difficult to know his name by heartand to recognize it among a thousand: Raphaël Quenard was rewarded this Friday February 23, 2024 at the César ceremony, and received the César for Most Promising Actor for his role in the film Dog of the breakage. Aged 33, the young man is by no means a beginner, and already has numerous films under his belt. He was also nominated in the César category for best actor for the film Yannickand in the category of best documentary short film for The Actor or the surprising virtue of incomprehension.
As revealed in a video published on TikTok by Canal+, the engraver of the precious trophy had a little scare. Indeed, while he was engraving the name of Raphaël Quemard on the César, the actor thought he saw a spelling mistake. If this had been the case, it would not have been repairable: but fortunately for him, the engraver made no mistake! “I think you were wrong,” the actor feared, before being reassured: “Ah, it’s an N. Ah sorry, I thought you made an M. I thought he made a mistake with the spelling”. More fear than harm therefore, and the actor hastened to show his precious sesame to the Canal+ cameras, with his name correctly engraved.
He is one of the new names in cinema who deserve to be known
Internet users, amused by the sequence, rightly pointed out that the actor was still little known, and that the mistake that the engraver could have committed was legitimate given his lack of notoriety : “The friend, he takes a Caesar, no one knows him” mocked a TikToker in a massively liked post. If he is not yet famous, Raphaël Quenard deserves to be known. Since his debut in 2019, the actor has starred in around twenty films, alongside big names in French cinema. We saw it in particular in Jeanne du Barry, I will always see your faces,
