Members of the former NUPES met on Monday June 10 to launch a new alliance through a Popular Front. Raphaël Glucksmann, MEP and head of the PS-Place publique list, first of all wishes “underline the seriousness of the moment”. “The President of the Republic played with fire. He plays with institutions like a teenager”esteems he who fears “a France controlled by Jordan Bardella, by Marine Le Pen, by Marion Maréchal”.
“Faced with this, it is imperative to be at the level of the historical challenge we face”, estimates the head of the PS-Place publique list. He wishes “a clear course” and not “not redo the NUPES”. “There was a reversal of the balance of power,” he adds. Recalling to be “head left”Raphaël Glucksmann wants “to set down [s]”conditions”.
Its conditions are as follows: “unwavering support for European construction”, “unwavering support for the Ukrainian resistance” but also “a rejection, a repeal of the pension reform [et] of unemployment insurance reform and immigration law”. He also wishes “an acceleration of the ecological transition” and a “rejection of the brutalization of political life”. “If these conditions are not met, we don’t do that”he assures.
In the event of a victory for the left, he assures that he does not want to become Prime Minister, but would like to see a figure emerge: Laurent Berger, the former boss of the CFDT. “The right person”according to Raphaël Glucksmann.
