Mathilde Panot, president of the La France insoumise group in the National Assembly and deputy for Val-de-Marne, was the guest of “8h30 franceinfo”, Thursday May 2, 2024. Raphaël Glucksmann accuses La France insoumise of being behind his expulsion of the May 1st demonstration in Saint-Étienne, summoning of two members of LFI for advocating terrorism, avenues to de-emcardise France… She answered questions from Salhia Brakhlia and Jérôme Chapuis.
Glucksmann prevented from demonstrating: rebels “are not responsible for anything”
“We are not going to stay for 25 years on an incident that he himself highlights to, once again, accuse the rebels who are not responsible for anything,” Mathilde Panot annoys. She responds again to Raphaël Glucksmann, head of the list of the Socialist Party and Place publique, who blames LFI after he was prevented from demonstrating on Wednesday in Saint-Étienne (Loire), on the occasion of May 1.
“This is the first time we have been asked to apologize for an action that is not claimed by us”denounces the president of the La France insoumise group to the National Assembly. “Those who made the demands are the Young Communists, you have to ask Fabien Roussel [le secrétaire national du PCF] what he thinks about it”she says.

Hearing for the apology of terrorism: a “political maneuver” by “power”
“Technically, it went well”explains Mathilde Panot about her summons before the police for advocating terrorism, but this hearing is “worrying on several points”. Mathilde Panot sees this “a political attack”after being heard “seven months” after a press release published by his parliamentary group on October 7, the day of Hamas’ unprecedented attack against Israel. “If I really was advocating terrorism, do you really believe that they would have waited seven months to summon me, it’s not serious”she protests.
The opportunity for her to link this summons to the European election campaign, accusing “the power” of “to make a political maneuver”. “Of course there is a maneuver, an instrumentalization of the police and justice with a view to an electoral result”she insisted, considering that Emmanuel “Macron reinvented the thought police”.
A regionalization of the minimum wage would create “social dumping in our country”
Mathilde Panot says she is not “agree at all with the regionalization of salaries”as proposed in particular by the LR president of Hauts-de-France Xavier Bertrand. “It will create social dumping in our own country”believes the leader of the LFI deputies. “I am in favor of increasing the minimum wage for everyone, so as not to lower rights in certain places.s, she explains, so as not to create a form of relocation ourselves.”
Mathilde Panot instead suggests“increase the minimum wage”then hold “a conference on salaries to increase all salaries” to then act, and “for example, regulating rents”.
🔴Salaries ➡️ “We propose to have an inter-company solidarity fund where large companies can help small companies, to help SMEs and VSEs to ensure that they can support the increase in the price of labor”, details Mathilde Panot. pic.twitter.com/dWx3VMZb7T
