“I will not give you anything, not an ounce of land”launches in the direction of Jordan Bardella, Raphaël Glucksmann, head of the list of the Socialist Party and Place publique in the European elections, Friday April 12 during the debate which pits him on France Inter against the head of the National Rally list.

The MEP accuses the president of the RN of conveying “illusions and myths” on the European Union. “Europe is not the vehicle of migratory overwhelm as you say, nor the vehicle of decline as you claim”, insists Raphaël Glucksmann. He also accuses Jordan Bardella of not “not read the texts [qu’il] vote in the European Parliament.” “You sell illusions, myths, but you do not know the content of the texts you vote for”he adds.

Zero immigration would be “the death of our economies and our societies”

Raphaël Glucksmann also denounces the “dais slogans” by Jordan Bardella “on zero immigration and migratory submersion”. He considers that these “slogans clash with facts.” He thus evokes the policies of “allies” of the National Rally, like Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni “who campaigned on the naval blockade and once came to power invited 400,000 foreign interests”.

The head of the PS/Place Publique list explains that the zero immigration quota desired by Jordan Bardella is not feasible, because “without immigration, you will no longer have the capacity to meet the demands of your economy and your society”. According to Raphaël Glucksmann, this would lead to “the death of our economies and our societies. Our aging societies need controlled migration, legal channels of migration”he assures.

Furthermore, Raphaël Glucksmann does not consider that “300,000 people are a migratory flood”. He says he has “confidence in France and its integrating capacities”. “What people can no longer tolerate is not the presence of migrants in their society, but the disorder and hypocrisy”, says the Place publique MEP. He therefore pleads for “legal avenues” like the creation of “multi-entry visa” in exchange for which “the countries of origin provide the consular passes which allow the laws in Europe to be respected”.
