Raphaël Glucksmann denounces “a kidnapping of the anger of farmers by political representatives”, the RN in the lead

“Since the start of the agricultural crisis, there has been a usurpation, a kidnapping of the anger of farmers by political representatives who voted for the texts which reinforce the crisis in the agricultural world,” denounces Raphaël Glucksmann, Monday February 26 on franceinfo. The head of the Socialist Party/Public Square list in the next European elections targets in particular the National Rally (RN). “The far right supported the common agricultural policy (CAP), it voted for the common agricultural policy with the representatives of Emmanuel Macron and the right”he says.

The RN delegation to the European Parliament voted for the reform of the CAP in 2021, a source in the European Parliament confirms to franceinfo. This CAP is the one that applies today, denounced by farmers. “When it comes to defending the breeders, the farmers who work 70 hours a week and receive 700 euros per month, there is no National Rally since they vote for the current CAP which has renationalized, in fact, the common agricultural policies”, insists Raphaël Glucksmann.

“With my socialist and Place publique colleagues, we fought against the common agricultural policy because it is fundamentally unfair, because it does not respond to the social crisis in agriculture”, assures the elected official, who went to the Agricultural Show on Sunday. For him, “we need a CAP which is profoundly reformed”. “The next European mandate will begin, moreover, with a huge discussion on this CAP which will be the first following the green deal [pacte vert pour l’Europe]”, he recalls.
