A worthy successor to Frédéric Lopez, Raphaël de Casabianca takes as much pleasure as his predecessor in hosting “Meeting in unknown land”. A program that has fascinated for many years and which still brings together as many viewers. Near Here is, the host has revealed a secret from filming the show. A secret without which the program might not work as well.

Indeed, when we discover “Meeting in unknown land” on television, we can have the impression that different civilizations have always had the habit of living with cameras. Raphaël de Casabianca explains why people are so comfortable with the camera

“What we don’t necessarily know is that the director leaves 10 days before me so that people get used to the camera without filming so that when we arrive they feel good and the camera is no longer a subject”, revealed Raphaël de Casabianca. In fact, we understand a little better why people who welcome celebrities seem so comfortable on screen.

Apart from filming, the animator devotes himself to his other passion: photography. He has just launched travel guides, published by Hachette, derived from the Instagram account @Petaouchnok. A joint project with his lifelong friend Antoine Delaplace.

A new project for Frédéric Lopez’s successor

“We wanted to have a more visual guide. There are more than 300 photos per guide. We want to show the destination. A more responsible guide, there are fewer addresses”he confided on this project before continuing: “These are really chosen addresses, which make sense. The tone is also a little different, more optimistic”. Guides that will make us travel as much as his show.
