The newly elected French MP, Raphaël Arnault, announced on Wednesday 7 August that he would be in London to support the “Anti-fascist comrades in the face of racist riots and targeted attacks”On the social network X, the MP for the 1st constituency of Vaucluse posted a photo of himself in a khaki jacket with the comment: “so I’m coming to London to support local anti-fascist comrades in the face of racist riots and targeted attacks. Young Guard mode on. Nazis off our streets”.

And a little later, the antifascist activist listed as S posted on the same social network a photo of a gathering in an unidentified location. He was pleased that there was “already hundreds and hundreds of people in front of an immigration office where the fascist attack had been planned”. Before adding: “Not sure they’ll show up, the resistance is on the move!” For the past week, the United Kingdom has been confronted with scenes of racist violence, following the circulation of information, partly denied, on the profile of the alleged perpetrator of a knife attack in a dance class where three girls aged 6 to 9 were killed in Southport.
