Rallies to denounce the immigration law, adopted Tuesday December 19 by Parliament, took place Wednesday evening in several cities in France. Several unions, associations and left-wing political parties have called for a demonstration in the city center of Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine) on Wednesday evening, reports France Bleu Armorique. This demonstration brought together 2,500 demonstrators according to the Solidaires 35 union and 1,800 according to the police.

At the call of several unions and left-wing parties, around fifty people also gathered in Avignon to denounce the adoption of the text carried by the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin, reports France Bleu Vaucluse. “Racist and xenophobic laws have reached a new level in the stigmatization of immigrants”protests Thierry Juny, general secretary of Sud Solidaires in the department.

In Besançon (Doubs), more than 200 people gathered against the immigration law, indicates France Bleu Besançon.

In Manche, around fifty opponents of the immigration law gathered on Wednesday evening in Cherbourg, reports France Bleu Cotentin.
