Rainy weekend across the province

The weekend will be gray and punctuated by showers in southern Quebec, according to Environment Canada predictions. Heavy rain is expected to persist until Sunday evening in several regions of the province.


Between 40 to 60 millimeters of rain are forecast until Sunday evening in several regions, including Montreal, Laval, Estrie, Lanaudière, Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivières.

In the Quebec region, around 15 millimeters of rain are expected.

“Torrential rains can cause flash floods and accumulation of water on roads,” warns Environment Canada.

Motorists are also reminded to be careful: showers could reduce visibility on the roads this weekend. “Turn on your headlights when visibility is reduced and keep a safe distance between vehicles. »

No major accident linked to bad weather has been reported so far, confirms the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
