Raiders pulverize Chargers 63-21

(Las Vegas) Tre Tucker caught two touchdown passes and the Las Vegas Raiders scored 42 points in the first half Thursday, en route to a 63-21 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Raiders’ offensive outburst came four days after their 3-0 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Los Angeles didn’t cross midfield until the third quarter.

The Raiders set a team record for points in a game, eclipsing a 59-14 win at Denver in 2010.

The Chargers had never been so generous. Their most points allowed was 57 to the St. Louis Rams in 2000.

Las Vegas came close to the 45-0 half-time record achieved in 2009 by the New England Patriots against the Tennessee Titans.

At the half, the Raiders (6-8) were already at 283 yards, racing to a 63-7 lead in the final quarter.

The Raiders’ Aidan O’Connell completed four touchdown passes in the first half.

He finished the game with 248 air yards.

Davante Adams caught eight passes for 101 yards, including a touchdown.

Easton Stick had 257 passing yards, including three touchdown passes. He made an interception.

Stick made his first start replacing Justin Herbert.

The result adds to the troubles of Chargers coach (5-9), Brandon Staley. His club has lost five times in six matches.

Additionally, the Raiders had lost three straight games.

On December 23, the Chargers will host the Buffalo Bills.

The Raiders will play Kansas City on Christmas Day.
