For the second time in ten days, Montreal’s leading magic mushroom shop, FunGuyz, is being raided by police, who have made one arrest so far.
“A lady who worked in the store was arrested,” said the public relations officer of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Jean-Pierre Brabant. The latter indicated that the operation taking place since 4:10 p.m. this Thursday is still in progress.
Three places are searched, namely the FunGuyz store as well as two apartments, including one located at the top of the business, said Mr. Brabant.
During his visit last Tuesday to the premises located on rue Ontario Est in the Ville-Marie borough, The duty had been able to see that the shop had defied the authorities by reopening its doors. A week earlier, on the first day of its opening, it had however been the subject of a search during which at least four people had been arrested.
At the time these lines were written, The duty was unable to reach the owners of the business.
In Quebec, as elsewhere in Canada, it is forbidden to sell magic mushrooms and their derivatives.
