Weather vigilance has just been lifted in France on Friday February 18 after the passage of storm Eunice. But these strong gusts of wind also hit the Netherlands, Germany and even Great Britain, on land and at sea.

Waves several meters high, unleashed, carried by winds of up to 200 km/h. The red alert has been given in the south of the United Kingdom. The spectacle attracts walkers, curious despite the danger. “It’s a once in a lifetime experience.”, says a local. The United Kingdom suffered the onslaught of storm Eunice at dawn, taking down the steeple of a church in the south-west of England, tearing the sheets of a roof in London.

The deserted British capital has been placed on red alert for the very first time. For the few Londoners on the streets, every step is uncertain in the face of the violence of the wind. Train, ferries and more than 400 flights have been cancelled. Eunice is the second storm to sweep across northern Europe in 48 hours after Dudley, which also hit Poland hard. The winds are now heading east of the continent, towards Denmark.
