Radio host of the 98.5 FM station Paul Arcand announced Friday morning that he will be absent from his show for an indefinite period due to health issues.
Mr. Arcand made this announcement on his own show, shortly before 7:30 a.m., by telephone. He was replaced Thursday and Friday as host of his show by Alain Crête.
He specified that he was suffering from a fairly severe infection, without saying more, and that he would have to undergo treatment.
He wanted to speak publicly about it because of the long relationship he has with his audience and to prevent unfounded rumors from being spread about his state of health. He also asked that his privacy be respected.
This professional break comes several months after Paul Arcand announced that he would leave the hosting of his daily Montreal show in June 2024.
Shortly after the interview, Alain Crête announced that journalist Louis Lacroix will host the 98.5 FM morning show, until Paul Arcand returns.
