Radio host Claude Saucier will retire in June

After 54 years on the air, on radio and television, Claude Saucier is bowing out. The current host of It is so good announced that it will cease its activities in June, after thirteen seasons spent behind the microphone of the most listened to show on the ICI Musique channel.

“There comes a time when you think and you say to yourself: ‘I think it has to stop’,” explains Mr. Saucier in a video capsule intended for his listeners on the Radio-Canada website. “I feel like I have realized all my dreams, and even dreams that I had not dreamed of in this profession,” he continues.

The man who took his first steps in Sept-Îles in 1970 with “zero experience” says he has applied throughout his career the advice given to him by his boss at the time: “Put on some music, then don’t talk too much. »

Over time, Claude Saucier was able to make himself heard at the station CKJL, in Saint-Jérôme, then at CKAC as a sports journalist and later as a host. In 1994, he joined Radio-Canada and held various positions there. He notably hosted the show The air of goingwhich combined song and classical music.

Since 2011, Claude Saucier has been making “the most beautiful music of our memories” heard by the audience of It is so good. It will complete its final season until June 22.
