Things are moving at Cogeco Media, and not just behind the microphone. The broadcaster has thanked its president, Caroline Paquet. She will be replaced by Martin Spalding, a former Bell Media employee.
Reported in The Duty On Wednesday, this information was confirmed to us by Christine Dicaire, Senior Director of Communications at Cogeco Media.
Martin Spalding has held several senior management positions with entertainment and media companies such as Grand Prix du Canada, Astral and Bell Media. He will start his new role at Cogeco on Monday, we are informed.
Caroline Paquet has held the position of President and CEO of Cogeco Media since July 2021. She had spent the previous 15 years at Quebecor, including four as Vice-President, Marketing and Content, at Videotron.
This news comes in the middle of a very eventful radio season for the company, which notably owns 98.5 Montréal, Rythme FM and CKOI. Following the departure of Paul Arcand, 98.5 Montréal has shaken up its daytime schedule. Earlier this week, on Rythme FM, we learned that Maripier Morin would replace Patricia Paquin on the noon show, The Lunch Girlsalongside Marie-Ève Janvier.
