Student precariousness: “We have been acting urgently for more than a year”

Regarding student precariousness, the Minister of Solidarity welcomes the measures taken “for more than a year”adding that “many things have been done”. Jean-Christophe Combe underlines that the scholarships have been revalued by 4%, “all scholarship recipients were able to benefit from the exceptional solidarity allowance and we set up meals at one euro, we froze the price of studies”.

Salary of overestimated childminders: “It pained me a lot this controversy”

Before the National Assembly last week, Jean-Christophe Combe made a mistake, saying that childminders earned three minimum wages on average, before admitting to having “deceived”. “I want to recall the context. I am not a politician. Before, I was director general of the Red Cross. So here, I made a mistake”.

Controls in nursing homes within two years: “We are committed to doing it and it will be done”

“We checked more than 600 nursing homes” and “seized the prosecutor three times for serious facts”, recalls the Minister of Solidarity. He promises that all these establishments will be inspected within the next two years. “We are committed to doing it and it will be done. We have recruited 120 employees in the regional health agencies (ARS) to support and carry out these checks.”

Jean-Christophe Combe “hears” those who ask for surprise checks in nursing homes but “we know what is happening in nursing homes”. He specifies : “When you are mayor, when you are general manager of an ARS, when you are president of the Departmental Council, you know what is happening in your territory”.
