A California police station has brought in a special new recruit just in time for Easter, “welfare officer” Percy the Bunny.
Officer Ashley Carson of the Yuba City Police Department, a town about 60 miles from Sacramento, had found the animal a year earlier in an alley and brought it back to the police station, reported the “New York Post”.

After trying to find Percy’s family, the police department decided to adopt him.
On Wednesday, the police department gave news of their new mascot on Facebook, announcing his title as a “wellness officer,” whose role is to “provide the tools and resources to reduce stress and create a base positive for well-being.
“Most enjoy his company, while others continue to get used to the idea of a rabbit in a police station,” the post read.
