Quiet Iga Swiatek in Madrid

(Madrid) World No.1 Iga Swiatek quietly qualified for the round of 16 at the WTA 1000 in Madrid by dismissing American Bernarda Pera (32e) 6-3, 6-2 in 1h 15m on Sunday.


The young Polish woman had won by the same score for her entry into the running against the Austrian Julia Grabher (92e) earlier in the week.

Swiatek will face the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova (17e) or the Chinese Qinwen Zheng (24e) for a place in the quarter-finals in the “Caja magica”.
