“Quick, quick, you must hide in a shelter”, sent to Ukraine, Anne-Claire Coudray and her teams filmed hurrying to the basement of their hotel!

This Sunday, February 12, 2023, TF1 offered a special edition in Anne-Claire Coudray’s 20H. For this unpublished page dedicated to the first anniversary of the Russian army offensive in Ukraine, the journalist “went a few days ago to kyiv, as well as to the cities of Boutcha, Irpin and Borodyanka, went to meet the resistance fighters of everyday life: baker, librarian, historian”, reports TF1 Info. In a video clip posted on the channel’s official Twitter account, Jacques Legros’ acolyte walks through the streets of the Ukrainian capital when an alarm is heard.

In panic, most of the inhabitants rush to take shelter. In the middle of a sidewalk, Anne-Claire Coudray and her team are soon arrested by a worried passerby. “There is an alert, you must hide in a shelter”, launches the latter. Another, for his part, has no intention of hiding. “I’m not afraid, if I have to die, I die”, he explains, smiling.

More than 600 alerts in one year

“In kyiv, for 1 year, air alerts have sounded more than 660 times. Two a day on average”, says Anne-Claire Coudray in voiceover. In shelters, “Don’t panic, the procedure is well established. In this modern world, you can even follow the start and end of alerts down to the minute on your phone“, she adds before asking a Ukrainian if the alert will last long.

“It depends. If the Russians use missiles, it can be quite fast. If they use drones, drone attacks, the famous Iranian drones, it can take 3 hours to destroy them all”, answers his interlocutor. Once the alert is over, “life is almost back to normal… Until next time”.
