One more point and that’s it. Four days after a victory (3-0) against Guingamp, Amiens had to settle for one point. The ASC, which has however long led on the lawn of Quevilly-Rouen leaves Normandy with a draw (1-1). The Picards remain in 13th place in Ligue 2
For this game, Philippe Hinschberger little rotated. Jessy Benet made his return to the starting XI, unlike Tolu. The pair made up of Kader Bamba and Aliou Badji was tasked with leading the attack. The first quarter of an hour remained relatively calm even though Aliou Badji thought he opened the scoringwell served by Kader Bamba author of a beautiful crossing of legs. The Senegalese scored but was flagged offside.
Faced with timorous Normans, remaining on a defeat in Dijon (1-0) Amiens rather mastered the first half hour but without managing to worry QRM too much. Aliou Badjion a center of Mattheo Xantippe missed his recovery and had been flagged for offside anyway.
Eddy Gnahoré finds the opening
Amiens managed to open the scoring just before the break. After a tumble from Aliou Badji, Nicolas Lemaitre postponed the deadline for the first time. But despite a good save from the QRM goalkeeper, the ball came back on Eddy Gnahore. In the middle of a forest of players, the ASC midfielder managed to push the ball into the back of the net to score his first goal in Ligue 2 this season. Quite logically, Amiens therefore returned to the locker room with this short but valuable advantage.
At the start of the second half, QRM came back with better intentions but it was the Amiens who had the first chance to score. Sadly, Kader Bamba, very well served by a very fit Aliou Badji was missed. The Normans however took on some colors as the second period progressed. Twenty minutes from the end of the meeting, Duckens Nazon placed a very complicated header to fetch. Corn impossible is not Régis Gurtner! The Amiens goalkeeper, with a formidable save, stopped this attempt by the QRM striker to preserve his team’s advantage.
Gbellé equalizes
But QRM insisted and it is Gerland Gbellé who found the fault a quarter of an hour from the end of the match. With a formidable strike from around thirty meters, the midfielder deceived Regis Gurtner to equalize. The Normans insisted at the end of the match but without once again finding the fault. The two teams shared the points and remain with the same number of units in the standings. Amiens is 13th with 25 points, as much as QRM who is 15th.
Amiens now has three days to prepare for its next deadline. It will be Saturday (4:15 p.m.) in Nancy for a place in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France.
