Before the Coupe de France final between OL and PSG at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium in Lille, supporters of the two clubs clashed at the Fresnes-lès-Montauban toll booth on Saturday May 25. Around thirty people were injured.

Scene of chaos on the A1 motorway Saturday May 25. Violent clashes pit supporters of Olympique Lyonnais against those of Paris Saint-Germain at the Fresnes-lès-Montauban tollbooth (Pas-de-Calais). A general brawl broke out shortly before the Coupe de France final. Around a hundred supporters of the two teams came to blows.

During these clashes, 38 people were injured, including eight police officers. A bus was set on fire, while four other vehicles were damaged. The A1 motorway had to be cut in both directions. The authorities had defined two separate routes for this match classified as high risk. In a press release published this morning, the Lyon club accuses the authorities of “obvious error of route”. A judicial investigation was opened to determine responsibilities.
