Questionable expenses of the OCPM | Minister Laforest asks leaders to think about their future

The Minister of Municipal Affairs, Andrée Laforest, invites the president and secretary general of the Office de consultation publique de Montréal (OCPM), Isabelle Beaulieu and Guy Grenier, to think about their future, following the revelations about expenses doubtful of the organism.

“If the facts we heard on the show I are true, these two people must think about what comes next, and very, very quickly,” said Minister Laforest on Wednesday, after leaving the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers.

“Both people, they will have to answer the questions. It’s not acceptable. »

Andrée Laforest was satisfied to know that the mayor of Montreal, Valérie Plante, had asked the city’s general auditor to investigate, and stressed that this investigation also concerned the president of the executive committee, Dominique Ollivier, who chaired the OCPM between 2014 and 2021.

“I will immediately take the Auditor General’s report and we will act. But how can I act as Minister of Municipal Affairs? We must change the Charter of the City of Montreal. And if there are legislative changes to be made, I will make them immediately,” continued the minister.

The OCPM is in hot water due to the revelations of reports broadcast by Quebecor in recent days, concerning questionable expenses made over several years.

Isabelle Beaulieu made her mea culpa on Wednesday, during an interview with 98.5.

As for Guy Beaulieu, he is currently in Brazil to participate in a presentation on the Longueuil Public Participation Office.
